Gartua
Deep in the Maw, there is a place called Gartua that opens wide, exposing a tapestry of night sky. Here the ground becomes a bridging sprawl through an unfathomable void.
The Expanse
The expanse is magnificent in its display, but also an organism of hunger. There are many accounts of wanderers stepping off the walkway and plummeting into the abyss without a single word uttered. Without a trained mind and without the proper utilities, like that of the Hawthorn wreath, a traveller is slowly consumed by its beauty.
Mother, offer me your disguise. The wicked deep has many limbs, and many disks from which it sees.
Distance
Gartua has a peculiar aspect. The distance travelled within does not match the distance outside. The domain connects corners of the world in ways that should not be possible.
Order
Yet its impossibility is oddly logical. Its openings and closings are as predictable as the doors of one's own house. Under the proper conditions, and with a balanced draught of the flower, the thresholds always reveal themselves in the same positions.
Study
The continues to explore and map the system, using the tunnels to travel The Far Country and to study Gartua, in hope of uncovering its purpose and exact mechanisms.
